Note: Baptismal witnesses: Johann Peter Peter, son of Heinrich Peter, and Anna Margaretha, daughter of Herr Meter. John's father, Michael changed name to
Huffaker in 1768. In 1797 John Peter and his brothers Christopher, Isaac, &
Jacob migrated from Washington Co, VA to Wayne County, Kentucky. Some time
later, Michael Huffaker Jr. joined them. On John Peter's birth records the
nameis spelled Huffacker and on the christening records it is spelled
Hofacker, for both father and son.
