Note: At time of birth the area was a frontier county of Fincastle, Virginia. In 1797 John Peter and his brothers Christopher, Isaac, & Jacob migrated from Washington Co, VA to Wayne County, Kentucky. Some time later, Michael Huffaker Jr. joined them.
