Note: OBIT- 23 Jan 1965 EVERETT HERALD, Everett, Washington John B. Mortland, 79, 125 Ave B. Snohomish, died 22 Jan. Born in Scotland, Indiana, 20 February 1885, he came to Snohomish County in 1902
and had lived here since. He was a member of the Carpenters' Union,
first Presbyterian Church of Snohomish and Snohomish Dahlia Society. He
leaves his widow, Jessie M. at home; two sons, Orville D. Mortland,
Everett, and John D Mortland, Yakima; a daughter, Miss Margaret Mortland,
Fircrest School, Seattle; three sisters, Mrs Addie Crooks of Burlingame,
California, Mrs Emma Yeabley, Everett, and Mrs Grace Huhnke, Eugene,
Oregon, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 2
p.m. in the chapel of Purdy and Dawson Funeral Home, Snohomish, the Rev
Leigh Taylor, officiating. Burial will be in Cypress Lawn Cemetery,
Everett.
