Notes
a. Note:   Bean, Leroy D 1793 TN. 29 APR 1869 Coffee County, TN. (Probate) Have you seen the book, THE CLAN MACBEAN IN NORTH AMERICA? In it Bernie Bean says, "In a published account of LeRoy D. Bean and his family of Woodville, Tex. in THE BEAUMONT ENTERPRISE, 4-14-1935, William Floyd Bean, son of Capt. "Jack" Bean stated, "John T. 'Jack' Bean was a nephew of Col. Peter Ellis Bean". Since he was talking about his own father we are forced to accept this statement as bonafide evidence of the factual lineage of this family. Peter Ellis Bean was therefore a brother of LeRoy D. Bean and both were sons of William Bean (Fam. 4642)". Not quite factual enough for me, but having to find legal documentation for membership in DRT and DAR has made me that way. He continues with the lineage of LeRoy D. Bean back to William Bean, of Cherry Point, Northumberland Co., VA, born about 1635. I have copied some pages from the book if you would like copies. My sister is married to a descendant of John T. Bean so she and her husband are both descended from the McQueens. She also found a bit of information on them from the Coffee Co. (TN) Historical Society Quarterly...something on their divorce and his remarriage, his will, service in the War of 1812. All very interesting in case you don't have it.
  There is also a book:
"Some Early Southeast Texas Families" by T. A. Wilson, catalog # GEN 929.2 W698s, with some Bean entries.
