Note: ere. He went to school about five months of the year. He was one of six children. He mar. Emma L. KORB Oct. 29, 1913. Emma was from Luthersburg. Emma and Philip lived in Troutville, Brady Twp. Clearfield Co. The house is no longer there. Philip was a farmer,coal miner and track layer for the mines. Also he bought a car, Star, and drove to DuBois each day to work on the DuBois Reservoir. Philip stopped in DuBois to pick up his brother-in-law, Al Reasinger who also worked on the reservoir. Philip was a constable in Troutville at the local dances. He would keep peace at the dances. Emma died at a young age,in Nov. 29,1929, Thanksgiving week-end.(Dad was 13) Philip was left to raise the six children by himself. He never re-married. At sometime Philip and Emma moved their family to Clover,Pa. for a year or two. Granddad Philip wanted to buy land there. Granddad went to shooting matches there. Emma had health problems. She had rheumatism in her legs. Her sisters, Clara and Lydia would take turns coming to the house to help out. There was a piece of ajoining land to the small farm in Troutville. Emma bought this land so they would have more farm land.Granddad Philip played the violin. These are family stories.
