Continued:   Daniel Bailey graduated from Woodward College before 18 years of age.He was engaged by Dr Joseph Ray, because of his high standing, toreview "Rays's Arithmetic" and "Ray's Algebra", used as textbooksthroughout the U.S. later, before they were printed. He served as anengineer in the construction of Deer Creek Tunnel in Cincinnati. Hewas Division Superintendent of the Little Miami Railroad. He joinedhis father-in-law, Eugene R Grasselli, as Secretary in 1864 after hismarriage, in what was to become the Grasselli Chemical Co. He moved,with his family, from Westwood Cincinnati to Cleveland, in 1885. Hebecame Vice President and Director of reorganized Grasselli ChemicalCo, of Chamber of Commerce, and Woodland Av. Savings & Trust Co andDirector of Broadway Savings & Trust Co and of Cleveland Worsted MillsCo.. He retired in 1911, 4 years before his death, because ofparalysis. He, "A gentleman and businessman of the old school",passed away at 81 years of age.
