 Killed by a train at the Woodslee station while awaiting the Detroit train
 Leaves a widow (his second wife) and three sons and four daughters. Son Walter picked up the body from Woodslee and brought to the home of his (John) brother, Thomas, in Sandwich. Buried in the old Episcopal Burying Ground in Colchester.
