Note: Alias:<ALIA> /Kay/ Kyoko IKEDA was the primary individual whose unusual life was chronologically described in the family history "A FAMILY CHRONOLOGY" written by her husband, Sidney C ARNOLD, Jr. Several IKEDA family line crests are illustrated in Part 4 of this family history publication. An interesting discussion of the IKEDA name and origins is also contained therein. The personal family publication "A FAMILY CHRONOLOGY" documents and illustrates life hardships, disappointments and achievements of Kyoko IKEDA - from being born into a prominent family, then losing all during World War II, and finally, finding her way toward regaining her strong character and pride which gave her the strength necessary to rebuild and provide unusual and rewarding purpose to her life thereafter. Kyoko was found to have cervical cancer 4 December 1995, and, after all efforts to cure her failed, died 7 August 1996 while a hospice patient in her home. She is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, with her predeceased daughter, Shizuko Katrina Arnold, Section 64, Grave 3280. A portion of her ashes were returned to her family in Japan for burial with her ancestors remains in Sumiyoshi Cemetery, Kobe City, Hyogo Ken, Japan. See "A FAMILY CHRONOLOGY" concerning additional details of Kyoko's sickness, death, memorial service, and burial in her final resting place.
