Also, the name "Riggan" appears as both "Riggan" and "Riggans" on various documents. Ola was a twin. Her twin brother died at birth. He was not named and his birth was never officially recorded. Following are a few major highlights of Ola May's life: 1) Ola May was an excellent cook, using her creative ability in preparing a wide variety of all types of food from biscuits to wedding cakes. 2) As further evidence of her initiative, Ola May created a much needed room for her growing family by enclosing the breezeway of her house for use as an eat-in kitchen, and also partitioning the one room on the second floor for her growing children's privacy. 3) She had the knack of making the most out of whatever limited resources that were available at any given time. Ola May was a survivor. 4) Ola May managed a U.S. Army Post Exchange during WW II in Butner, NC. 5) She owned and operated a popular restaurant for several years in Butner. 6) An excellent baker, Ola May's cakes were always in great demand for for birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions. Ola May died from failing health and was buried at Carolina Memorial Gardens, Creedmoor, Granville Co., NC.
