Note: Born in Kenosha, Howard moved to Milwaukee with his parents. In 1922 he was employed as a train baggerman and lived at 1062 N. 5th Street in Milwaukee, along with his brother Russel. In 1928 he married Elenor Loth of Milwaukee. In 1929 he was employed as a mechanic and owned a home at 1025 N. 15th Street. In 1930 he was employed as an auto mechanic and lived at 1025 N. 33rd Street. In 1931 he had moved to 2359 N. 33rd Sreet. He later moved to the "Goerke's Corner" area in the Town of Brookfield, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Around 1943 he moved his family for the final time to Duplainville, Town of Pewaukee, Waukesha County. Howard was active in town affairs, especially with the local school board. He was a long time employee of the Alloy Products Company in Waukesha. After retirement, Howard took pleasure in raising fowl as a hobby.
