Note: The death of Robert Russell Crocker occured at his home in Dearborn, Michigan, USA on Dec 15,1974. Born at Newcastle in 1896, he was the son of the late Andrew Ross Crocker and Annie (Russell) Crocker. Before enlisting in 1914 with the Fighting 26th Battalion, under the command of Major W. Herbert Belyea, he worked on the office staff of the Miramichi Farm Implement Store. W. Herbert Belyea was killed. Mr Crocker was wounded again at the front in 1917, and in 1918 the 26th was put in command of Lt. Col. A.E.G. McKenzie in 1917 who was killed at the Front in action in 1918. Mr Crocker was awarded the Military Medal for bravery, among other honors. After returning home in1918, he resumed his position with the Miramichi Farm Implement Store of which the late Gordon Davidson was manager. In the late twenties he went to Detroit and he was part owner of the Crocker and Hardy Seat Cover Plant for many years. He leaves to mourn besides his wife Margaret (Copp) Crocker formerly of Newcastle; three sons, and three daughters. Andrew, Frederick and Charles. Mrs Vivian Calvey, Mrs Margaret Schaefer and Mrs Jean Mather all of Michigan. Three sisters, Mrs Margaret Williams, R.N. of Rhode Island, who nursed him until his death of cancer. Ethel,(Mrs Freeman Mountain) of Blackville and Anna(Mrs Max Allen) of Newcastle. Two brothers, H. Arthur Crocker of Douglastown and G. Mowry Crocker of Strathadam. The funeral was held on December 18 at the Howe Peterson Funeral home, Dearborn..Rev Robert Bohrer of the Anglican Church officiated. Final resting place was in Memorial Gardens West, in Wayne, Michigan. Robert Russell Crocker and Margaret Laura Copp were married in St Andrew's Rectory on 2 December 1920, License # 6955 by W.J.
