a. Note:   Ontario. they had 3 children. Robert George, Carol Anne,and Ronald Edgar Roger Norman Mahon was Chief Constable, Village of Port Carling, District of Muskoka, Ontario 1938-1942 during the Second World War. As the Village abandoned the Police Force because of hard times, Roger and his family re-located to London, Ontario area in 1942. He worked as a Police Officer on the New York Cenral Railway for a year, then became a Jail Guard at the Middlesex County Jail in London, Ontario in 1943. During the 1950's Roger was promoted to the position of Chief Turnkey, which was second in command under the Jail Governor. Roger retired in July 1973 following 30 years of service. His youngest son Ronald became a Correctional Officer at the London Provincial Jail in 1973, just a few months prior to Roger's retirement. Roger lost his beloved wife Helen tragically,Christmas Eve of 1978 while enjoying christmas turkey, with most of their grandchildren present, singing Christmas Carol's. Roger passed away 13 months to the day later. Some, say of a broken heart, he was never the same after losing Helen.
