a. Note:   records. He was living in the Greensburg In. area during the CivilWar. He served in two Civil War Regiments during the War. First, Hemuster'd in Company I 26th Indiana Infantry on 28 Jul 1861. He wasdischarged for severe conjunctivitis on 18 Sept 1862. His secondenlistment was with Company G, 123 Indiana Inf. They muster'd in 14Jan 1864. Ruben's name is spelled Rubin Hulit on this Company roster.He served with this unit till the end of the War. Ruben's where aboutsfrom the end of the War till his death are difficult to trace. Hedoesn't show up in the census records.
Note:   Ruben was born in Licking Ky in 1825, according to Civil War
