1/10/05: From correspondence with George Clixby - "Believe he had a daughter called May by his first wife. I remember visiting Glad [Gladys Walmsley] in 1967 or 1968 with my father and mother. Glad said she had heard that May ran a pub with her husband in Cheetham Hill Rd between the city centre and Queens Rd. It was on the left hand side going towards Queens Rd. We went there as a surprise and the woman was very pleased to see Glad and my mother. I'm not 100% certain, but I believe May was their half sister. Not long after that on another visit to Glad, she said that there had been a robbery, or someother crime, and I think May or her husband had died as a result. I think it was in the Evening paper."
Also from the 1881 census, the Boardman family were living at 38 Cheetwood La, Cheetham, whilst numbers 32 and 36 were uninhabited. In 1909, Charles was living at number 32 and Amelia Worrall was at 36.
From FreeBMD.org.uk - there's a birth entry for Charles Boardman Mar 1879, Prestwich 8d p434.
Note: Born at Cheetwood Lane Cheetham. Widower at his second marriage to Amelia Worra
