Note: William H. Slager initially was a research chemist at the Thomas and Hochwalt Laboratories in Dayton, Ohio in 1935. This company was bought by the Monsanto Chemical Company and in 1942, during WW II, he was transferred to their Texas City, Texas plant where they made synthetic rubber for tires for the U.S. military.
