Note: Obituary of George Richard Cornish UPPER SANDUSKY --- Funeral services for George Richard Cornish, 74, formerly of 403 W. Hicks St., Upper Sandusky, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Girton Church of God, Girton, the Rev. Herbert T. Hill officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Bringman & Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, and an hour before time of services Wednesday at the church. He was born Oct. 15, 1920 in Upper Sandusky to Stephan and Flora (Stewart) Cornish. He married Rosina Louise Backs on Nov. 11, 1944, and she died July 15, 1971. He later married Marvaleen Barringer on June 24, 1972, and she died Sept. 17, 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rodger (Frances Ann) Brodman, Upper Sandusky; a son, George Robert of Upper Sandusky; a step-son, Roger Barringer, North Baltimore; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert (Diane) Weaver, North Baltimore; Angela Abramson, Findlay; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest of Toledo; Robert of Davenport, Iowa; and a stepsister, Mrs. Tony (Irene) Barretta, Mansfield. He was preceded in death by two sons, Howard E. and John G.; three brothers, Steven, John, and Lester; and two sisters, Cynthia and Frances. Mr. Cornish retired in 1987 from Chrysler Corp. Twinsburg Stamping Plant, Twinsburg. He graduated in 1942 from Upper Sandusky High School. He was a member of Girton Church of God and a former member of the United Auto Workers, Twinsburg.
