a. Note:   Obituaries of John B. Weaver "Holgate Pioneer Dies Suddenly"
  John Weaver, a lifelong resident on a farm a mile and a half south of Holgate, died Tuesday in a Toledo hospital. He had been operated upon for a bowel obstruction. He was 78 years old.
  Funeral services will be held Friday morning in St. Mary's Church in Holgate. He was a member of that congregation. His body was returned to Holgate in Shaw's Ambulance.
  Mr. Weaver's last illness came suddenly. Only last Thursday he was in Holgate calling on friends. He was hurried to the hospital but an emergency operation failed to save his life.
  Mrs. Weaver died about four years ago. Three sons survive. They are Sylvester of Philadelphia, Lewis of Miller City and Raymond of Napoleon. There is one daughter, Mrs. Manford Bishop of Defiance.

  "John Weaver Dies"
  John Weaver, 78, residing a mile southeast of Holgate died early Tuesday morning in St. Vincent's hospital in Toledo. Mr. Weaver had been taken to the hospital Saturday night to undergo an emergency operation.
  Funeral services will be held in St. John's Catholic church in Holgate Friday at 9 a. m. with Fr. Robert Ruffing officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetary.
  The deceased had lived in the vicinity of Holgate his entire life. His wife died four years ago.
  Mr. Weaver leaves a daughter, Mrs. Helen Bishop of Defiance and three sons, Raymond of Napoleon, Louis of Miller City and Sylvester of Philadelphia, Penn.
