Note: JOE JACKLIN ------------- CALLED TO THE GREAT BEYOND BY THE ANGEL OF DEATH Sunday night the death angel again visited Holgate and took from our midst Joe Jacklin who was well known in Holgate and vicinity. The deceased was born in Colton, but for the past twenty-one years has resided with his parents at this place. He was aged 49 years and 2 days and was unmarrried. His whole life was a beautiful one. He was unpretentious and seemed to have but one object in life and that was to make life for his aged parents happy and comfortable. He kept the commandment "Honor thy father and thy mother" to the letter, and his death has transformed the halo of sunshine be as a loving son cast around their lives, into a shadow of gloom. The deceased had not been feeling well for several days and finally he was attacked with cerebo spinal meningitis which resulted in his death Sunday night. The deceased leaves an aged father and mother, two brothers and five sisters to mourn the loss of an affectionate son and loving brother. The brothers and sisters of the deceased are: Mrs. Millie Welsh, of Delphos; Mrs. Rose Brady, of Deshler; Mrs. Lizzie Hall, of Mathews, Ind.; Sylvester Jacklin, of Leipsic; Tom Jacklin, of Sageeyah, Indian Territory; Mrs. Mary Weaver and Mrs. Teresa Haley, of Holgate; all of whom were present at the funeral except Tom, the long distance he would have to travel making it impossible for him to be here. The funeral took place from St. Mary's church yesterday morning, the services being conducted by Rev. Tennison.
