a. Note:   ON APR 4, 1952 IN A LETTER TO HIS SON FRED HE WROTE THE FOLLOWING:
  "The original family came to America and settled at Jamestown, Virginia in 1609 as you see we are really early Americans."
  Oscar, Frank and Homer Played semi-pro baseball. All three served in WWI. Frank was Stationed in France. Homer was an Aircraft Mechanic, in the Air Branch of the Singal corps, Stationed in England.
  Homer and Bertha were living at a boarding house, in Pocatello, Idaho when they 1st met. He was playing semi-pro baseball and she was teaching school. After they married in San Francisco, they lived at 901 west 78th st., Los Angeles, Calif. In 1927, they and their children Fred and Helen (Ken wasn't born yet) moved to the town of Canoga in the western part of the San Fernando Valley, the town later changed its name to Owensmouth, and then Canoga Park, Calif. In 1927, 1500 people lived in the west half of the San Fernando Valley in 1996 the population of the valley was over 1.5 million.
  Homer was a building painter he was called "EP" by his friends. Very active in the American Legion.
