Thefamily returned to Sweden in 1919 and then came back toMinnesota in 1920. She met Chet Magnuson while working atDaytons downtown. Mary loved to entertain and was always readyto put on a meal for the interesting collection of people Chetbrought home. After Chet's death in 1957, she worked nights atthe Curtis Hotel and eventually found a job she enjoyed at theStar-Tribune Credit Union. There she met Martin Anderson andthey married in 1966. They enjoyed traveling, dancing andsummers at Sauntry's Pocket, Martin's lake cabin in Gordon,Wisconsin. After Martin's death in 1973, she continued to spendsummers at the lake and became quite brave about driving upthere herself. She spent the last ten years of her life withher son and daughter-in-law, Buzz and JoAnn. The aging processslowed her down a bit in recent years but she still enjoyedcrafts, puzzles and visiting with friends and family. Maryloved Christmas and made family traditions special for all whoknew and loved her. Perhaps it is appropriate that her life onearth ended on Christmas Eve. She loved Minnehaha Falls, thesite of many happy family gatherings and requested that wegather there to remember her and say good-bye.
