a. Note:   Caroline Dye was born 1853 in South Carolina. She lived in Newport, Arkansas We st Bird Township, Jackson County house 135 on Hemmel Street. She is buried in G um Grove Colored Cemetery east of Walnut Grove Cemetery, Jackson County Arkansa s. She has a grave marker and is not as expensive as her husband. She bought hi m a nice one for he died before she in 1907. Callie died in 1928. Caroline Dye help raise Stephen Clark's wife Lucintha Dye but she was not her ward or adopte d child by law but took her last name of Dye because that is the way it was in those days. Slaves took the name of their owners who were Henry C. Dye and John Dye. The same is for her husband Martin Dye. THIS RESEARCH WAS BY LEONARD T. CLARK SR. My mother's olde st sister was born in 1888. My mother and three brothers and two sisters. When my aunt was a teenager she read her future and said that she would outlife all of her siblings and she lived four years longer than any. Carolyn told her talk ed about Caroline Dye to her and said that Caroline used to travel by wagon and predict futures in the Jackson County Arkansas Area. -30-
