Note: John Tenney arrived in Hanover New Hampshire with an ox team in June 1770 and for a short time occupied a log cabin on road 13 while he was building a house on road 14.
He was located on Moose Mountain. Later called Tenney Hill and was still called Tenney Hill in 1953. It is about four miles air line east of the Connecticut River and one mile east of the center of the town where three of his sons resided, David, Andrew and John Jr, during their natural lives. At the time he tookup residence in Hanover there were only 13 families in town.
