Note: The 1900 census for Vesta Precinct, Linden Town, Linn Township, Dallas Co., NE says that Amanda Snodgrass's father was born in Ohio and her mother was born in Kentucky. OBITUARY--Adel Dallas County Paper--25 MAR 1931 MRS. HOLLOWAY CALLED BY DEATH Mrs. Amanda Holloway passed away at her home Thursday morning after a lingering illness at the age of seventy-seven years. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon. Interment was made at West Linn. OBITUARY Amanda J. Snodgrass, daughter of William and Katherine Snodgrass was born October 11, 1853 near Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, and passed away at her home in Linden March 19th, 1931. She was married to Samuel Holloway December 18, 1871. To this union was born seven children, Charlotte C. Howell, Scotts Bluff, Nebr.; Charles T. Holloway, Medford, Oregon; William L. Holloway, Coon Rapids, Iowa; Nettie Hesse, Stratford, Iowa; Bessie Borst, Adel, Iowa, Margaret and Gary preceded her in death. Besides the children to mourn their loss are eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. CARDS OF THANKS We wish to express our thanks and appreciation to our many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our mother and grandmother--Will Holloway, Nettie Hess, Bessie Borst and Gerald. Besides the children she leaves to mourn her loss eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church, Rev. Felt officiating. Interment in the West Lynn cemetery where the bodies of her husband, son and daughter lie.
