Note: OBITUARY Mrs. Martha Jane Zuver Martha Jane Hillman Zuver was born January 5, 1850 in Bradford county, PA. She passed away at her home in Geneva, Neb., Tuesday, January 4, 1944 at the age of 93 years 11 months and 30 days. She was the daughter of John and Eliza Hillman. She came to Iowa with her parents when a small child. then in 1860 moved to Gage county where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to George W. Zuver June 5, 1870. To this union were born five children, Byron, Julia, Frona, Sara and Clarence. Left to mourn her death are Byron of Adams, Neb., Frona Dye of Lamar, Mo., and Sara and Clarence at home, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Julia Bryson, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren preceded her in death. The family resided in Geneva about fifteen years. Mrs. Zuver joined the Methodist church when a girl and was a devoted Christian and mother. Funeral services were conducted at the Kritner funeral home in Geneva, January 8, at 10 a. m., Rev. W. B. Pardun, pastor of the First Methodist church officiating. Further services were conducted at the Bryon Zuver home in Adams at 2:30 that afternoon. Rev. P. D. Cox, pastor of the Adams Methodist church, officiating. Interment was in the Adams cemetery. Mr. Burroughs sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Jesus, Saviour, Pilot Me." Pallbearers were J. J. Beck, W. B. Walter of Beatrice, C. V. Hemphill, Ben Pefferman, Ben Welderman and Earl White, all of Ellis.
