Note: OBITUARY John Jenkins Dixon Deat at 92. John Dixon was born March 1, 1841, on a farm near Mineola. Passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Annie Mitchell, in Mexico Monday, April 10, at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 10 days. He had spent his life in Montgomery County, until the death of his wife, a few years ago, when he went to Mexico to make his home with his only daughter. He and his twin brother, William B. Dixon of New Florence, were the oldest twins in the United States. They were Confederate veterans, fought thru the Civil War under General Marmaduke. They were taken prisoners at Kansas City in 1864 and completed the war time period in a Union prison Camp at Rock Island, Illinois. Mr. Dixon had been ill for ten days and the end came peacefully and he died without a struggle. He leaves to mourn his departure his daughter with whom he made his home, four grand-children, his twin brother at this place, and many other relatives. His son, Ausbin Dixon passed away about three years ago. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at this place, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. I. M. Turnage, a Baptist minister, assisted by Rev. Blake Smith, pastor ot the Mexico Baptist Church. Interment was in the New Florence cemetery. He was married in 1867 to Miss Helen Clark, who passed to the Great Beyond many years ago. GRAVE STONE DIXON JOHN HELEN
