Note: Jay E. Cook, Jr. died in 1986 and was originally buried in Waterloo Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo, IA. However, he was exhumed, cremated and moved to Loveland Burial Park, Larimer County, CO on June 13, 2006. All of the family has now relocated to CO. OBIT 1: Jay E. Cook Jr., 60, of 5804 Applewood Dr., Waterloo, died Wednesday, January 1, 1986 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo after a short illness. He was born January 13, 1925 in Oskaloosa, the son of Jay E. and Freda B. (Nevins), Sr. He married Ruth M. Wolfe on March 30, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York. Cook was vice president for 20 years of Iowa Securities Company and later Banco Mortgage Company, which later merged with Norwest Mortgage Company, Inc. He served with the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II. He is survived by his wife; a son, Steven J. of Fort Collins, Colorado; a daughter, Linda J. Cain of Waterloo; two brothers; Ted E. of Grinnell and Robert L. of Madison, Wisconsin; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church. Burial will be in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. - noon Saturday at Kearns-Dykeman Funeral Chapel and for an hour before services at the church Saturday. Memorials may be made to the church.
