a. Note:   home following an extended illness with his family at his side. He was a retired roofing contractor and also was retired from the Nestles Company after 38 years of employment.
  A man of unshakable faith, he was a devoted Christian and was very much involved in the churches he held memberships in throughout his life. He was one of the people instrumental in establishing and building the Foursquare Gospel Church on Raymond Rd. The church had humble beginnings in a tent. He currently holds membership the in the Marysville Vineyard Church and was also involved in the Running For My Life Ministries. His faith was also exemplified by the many times he sang duets with his wife Helen in church. Mark served as a Medic in the US Army during WWII. He loved the out of doors, was proficient in his knowledge of the woods, was an avid hunter and dealt in antiques. He was an avid motorcyclist and, until his health failed him, was commonly seen biking around Marysville on one of the 76 motorcycles that he had owned during his life.
  He was born March 27, 1927, in Raymond to the late C.J. and Cecile M. Wooley Mathys. He married the former Helen L. Kingery August 23, 1952 at the Marysville Friends Church. She preceded him in death August 20, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Carroll, Loren, Miles �Bud�, David, Philip, Tom, Steve, Isabel �Sammy�, Mozelle �Toady�, Suzie, and May. Mark is survived by his children, Rebecca L. Mathys of Marysville, Mark S. (Julie) Mathys of Raymond, Heidi W. (Herb) Orahood of Raymond, Tyler G. Mathys of Marysville; grandchildren, Carl M. (Karen) Coe, Carrie (Steve) Ault, Carla (Ray Faulk) Coe, Christina Mathys, Holly, Haley, and Heather Orahood, Ashton Mathys; great grandchildren, Michael, Colin, Ava, Charlie, Lily, Luke, Sarah, Carrie Beth, Isabella, Sophie, Ashley; a brother James (Thelma) Mathys of York Center; and his many friends.
  Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday at the Ingram Funeral Home with Pastor James Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Raymond Cemetery next to his wife. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time.
  His casket bearers will be Tommy Mathys, Tyler Mathys, Mark Mathys, Herb Orahood, Carl Coe, and Dennis Mathys.
  The Union County Honor Guard will provide full military honors.
  Memorial contributions may be made to the Running For My Life Ministries or the Marysville Vineyard Church in care of the funeral home.
