Notes
a. Note:   ommanded by Captain R.B.M. McGlasson in the 10th Regiment of the Missouri Cavalry Volunteers under Colonel F.W. Benton. Stephen C. Burns died of Small Pox on or about the 10th day of January 1865. Stephen's mother Naomi filed for his Pension stating that he was her only means of support because her husband Stephen's father Elijah J. Burns had died on the 6th day of March 1863 . Pension Claim Affidavit was dated 12th day of September 1865 and signed by Naomi Burns of Philps County Missouri . This affidavit gives us the documentation to show that E.J. Burns'es name was in fact Elijah J. Burns .
"Elijah Burns of Independence County Arkansas offered a reward for slaves owned by his sister in the Oct. 10, 1836 Little Rock Times." It would be nice to know the name of the sister that Elijah Jr. is refering too in this ad.
Note:   Elijah's son Stephen served in the Civil War as a Corporal in Company J c
