Here is some of what I have collected from other researchers and books. So many repeats of the same names makes it hard to be sure. I am descended from John M. NEILL born 1813 in N.C. He married Martha C. MALONE in Rhea County, TN. 2/10/1835. The bondsman was Peter A. NEILL. Peter A. NEILL married Susan RUNIONS/RUNYON, 10/7/1835, Robert B. Suthard Bondsman. I am trying to find the parents and siblings of John M. NEILL. He is my gggrandfather. If Peter is John's brother, I have got it made. I need to connect these people. Peter NEIL who moved from Claiborne County, TN. after the death of his wife to be near his son John NEILL who married Sarah LANE sister of Russell LANE.

Letter 28 September 1955 from Miss Gertrude Neill, Morganton North Carolina, a descendant of both John Duckworth and John Neill, in "The Duckworth Collection"): John Duckworth's father, I think his name was William, and John Neill came together from Virginia to North Carolina in the mid 1760's and were in all probability brothers-in-law as her aunt said the sons of John Neill were first cousins of John Duckworth. http://www.ncgenweb.us/transylvania/home_html/Duckworth-Family.html#WmNJane
