Note: Wheaton Journal, Thursday, August 9, 1928 YOUNG COUPLE WED On Sunday afternoon, August 4th, Mr. Jess Higgs and Miss Mary Tucker drove over to Stella and were united in marriage by Rev. Chas. Vanzandt, pastor of the Stella Baptist Church. Jess is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Higgs highly respected citizens of the Shoal Creek locality. He is also the grandson of the late Uncle Kelly Higgs, also of the late Uncle Andy Baker, who years ago resided east of Cassville. Miss Tucker is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Tucker, of north of Exeter, also highly respected citizens. The best wishes of their many friends go with them in their journey of life together. Services for Mary Francis Higgs, age 103, of Pierce City will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 29, 2011, in Pierce City First Baptist Church, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend Rex Black and Reverend Justin Guffey will conduct the services. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Contributions may be made to Pierce City First Baptist Church in memory of Mary.
