Note: THe life of Isabella remains largely unresearched. Kate Sutherland nee Gunton said Isabella was teaching at or near Launceston at the time Alexander died. Claudia Sutherland says Isabella taught school in Sydney & died there. Some todate unrelated notes are: One Isabel Janet Sutherland married Henry Burton in Syney in 1880, reg #155, & one Henry Burton died in Sydney in 1885 reg. #1603. At her marriage Isabel said she was a widow, father was William Sutherland & mother Janet. Another Isabella M Sutherland m. Matthew Riley in Queensland #470.66 1856/1872 Between the Wars gives death Isabella 1929 age 82 of Collaroy Manley #9240 Isabella died in Sydney in 1929 & her age was given as 82. Our Isabella was born in 1842 so either her givsn age was understated or the person nwho died in 1929 was another person altogether.
