a.	Note: Samuel was a blacksmith by trade, & like his brother in law Alexander Sutherland, he was well known in the Evandale district for his skills as a wheelwright. Only 27 years old at his death Samuel was buried with his parents in the old Catholic cemetery at Evandale. Their grave is one of the very few left marked today. Samuel's wife Bridget & her parents lived in Evandale after they arrived from Ireland when Bridget was 11 years old. After Samuel's death Bridget had 2 daughters she named Ethel & Lillie Gunton.
