Note: William was educated at Deloraine, Carrick, & Leamington North. He became a blacksmith & farrier like his father before him. He went to Victoria where he worked for several years & then returned to set up a business at Swansea. William's wife Mary Anne was a member of the Burgess family in Swansea. Of all James Gunton's issue William was the only one not to have children. Maybe in that regard there is yet a story to explain why a niece & a nephew were to be buried with him in the peaceful cemetery by the sea at Swansea.
