In the 1860 census he has living with him a Mary Harrell aged 60 who could be his mother. John married Charles' Harrell's wife's sister. Based upon this, I am assuming that John and Charles were brothers though this is not proved. Since Mary was living with them in the 1860 census, I am assuming she is his and Charles' mother. My guess is the John and Charles' father was a Benjamin Harrell who is found in court records in GA, one in which he has some dealings with the Kitchens family.
