  Letter from Mabel Mount Atkinson to Mrs. Peacock dated July 11, 1944 - "My mother was also related to the Wallace's, her father was John Rufus Love, who had two sisters who married sons of Joel Hall Wallace (son of Joel and Esther Houston Wallace).
  Per Limestone Co. Marriages (1821-1861) -Joel H. Wallace to Cynthia Miligan on Feb 2, 1827 (other records say Feb. 20, 1827) presiding J. L. Sloss, MG (A-114).
  From Rebecca Price Emmett (horsemom@@richmond.infi.net) 6 Aug 1997 -- "Has had five sons and six daughters. Two of his sons died in the Civil War. He joined the Baptists under relative influence and proselytism. He is a widower and resided in Texas (1881), near Jacksonville."

History states they had 11 children, all born in Alabama. 1870 Texas Census, Cherokee County, Jacksonville, Aug. 20th, Pg. 7, ED241 Wallace, Joel H., 64, farmer Tenn. $1,900; $844; Cynthia, wife 63,Tenn; Perry I., son, 20, at school, AL; Porter, Malinda, dau., 23, at home, AL $25; Dora, G-dau 3, TX. ************************************************************************** 1880 Texas Census, Cherokee Co., Vol 6, ED14, Sheet 25, Line 18 Joel H. Wallace, 75, birthplace, Tenn., is living with son Perry I. and family, and also Dora Porter, age 12, born Texas. (Joel died in 1881.) **************************************************************************** Joel and Cynthia are buried in Tilley Cemetery located in Afton Grove Community, about 7 miles east of Jacksonville, Texas and 1/4 mile north of Highway 79. Also buried in the same cemetery is their daughter Nancy, & son-in-law Robert F. Irwin, and two of their daughters who died in childhood.
  In the 1880 Texas Census, Bosque County, all of the brothers and their families were living in Bosque County. Thomas Jefferson (Jeff) was living with his sister Eliza Jane and their 6 year old niece Lula Johnson.
