Letter from Stella Reeder, 1944 - Moved from Maryville, TN to Cahwba Valley, AL Letter from Mabel Mount Atkinson to Mrs. Peacock dated July 11, 1944 - "I know nothing of William, except the fact that he was living in 1839. Writings of Camille Sheilds Wallace - ...moved to Catawba Valley, AL; the 1850 census of Bibb Co., AL shows William Wallace as the head of household, that he was 61 years of age and born in TN.Nephew of Col. Matthew Wallace, Mary's 1st husband. From Rebecca Price Emmett (horsemom@@richmond.infi.net), 6 Aug 1997 -- This marriage proved a very unhappy one. He had a consideralbe familiy; she had no children of her own to care for, but considerable property. Her troubles proved too great to be borne. Her reason succumbed and she died in the insane asylum. As a woman, she was as noble in personal appearance as her brtoher Sam was as a man.
