a. Note:   Alex. Dick started playing in the Essendon Football team in 1988 He was captain of the Essendon football team from 1891 - 1894. They were premiers for all those four years. He was also an inter colonial representative in 1889 1893 & 1894. In 1889 the inter-colonial team played against a Tasmanian team. In 1894 he was captain of the inter-colonial team which played South Australia. Alex. Dick was a member of the committee of the Essendon football Club from 1898 - 1903. In 1905 Alex. Dick was elected to the Brunswick Council and was Mayor in 1908 when Brunswick was declared a city. This is commemorated on a plaque on the Brunswick City Hall wall in Sydney Rd. Brunswick. In 1911 Alex. was elected as President of the Victorian Butchers Association.
