a. Note:   !Per Lisa and Betty Jo, in 1901-1902, Bill and his brother Bob robbed a train of $60,000. Both were sent to prison. Bill escaped and Bob died of TB. FURTHER RESEARCH SHOWS BILL WAS SENT TO PRISON IN 1895 FOR GRAND LARCENY IN ARKANSAS. MORE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW. INFO SAID HE HAD TWO BROTHERS - ROBERT AND GEORGE BOTH LIVING IN PLEASANT PLAINS, AR AS WELL AS HIS FATHER BURGESS.
  ACCORDING TO RECORDS HE WAS RECEIVED AT THE PENITENTIARY ON 10-12-95, ESCAPED FROM WALNUT LAKE 12-19-95; WAS RECAPTURED 3-24-97, RELEASED ON 10-13-98 FOR GOOD CONDUCT. HIS SENTENCE EXPIRED 2-7-1899. HE WAS CONVICTED ON 10-2-1895 IN INDEPENDENCE COUNTY. HE WAS 6'2", 190 LBS AND 24 YRS, GRAY EYES AND DARK HAIR.
  According to criminal court records, Bill Scoggins stole 2 oxen from M.J. Harris - this was filed on May 29, 1895.
