John Henry Corley, was a Circuit Riding; 'Hardshell' Baptist Preacher; he was murdered at Powderly, Larmar Co., Texas, on 13 Oct 1894. He bore a resemblance to one of the parties involved in a fued; from a distance, riding his mule on Sunday morning; his killer lined down him with a rifle and killed him.
