He grew to manhood here, later going into farming for himself on a farm just across the road from his birthplace, which he occupied for many years until his retirement in 1934, when he moved to Keystone< Iowa. DEATH: A short service was held onThursday, Nov 28, 1941 at the home in Keystone at 1:45 to be followed by services at St. Johns Lutheran at 2:00. In charge of services was Rev A. W. Brauer. Interment was at the Lutheran Cemetary in Luzerne, Iowa. DEATH: Pallbearers were six nephews, Clarence Studt, Walter Waterman, Duane Wehrman, Eldo Peterman, Karl Kouba, and Horace Thompson. DEATH: Cause of Death was Pneumonia and Gall stones He took an active interest in politics and for many years was one of the leaders in the Republican party in this part of the state. He was also active in the Iowa Township Mutual Fire Insurance Accoc. and for many years served as treasurer of that company.
