Note: Barry was educated at Southwell school Hamilton and King College Auckland. Did 2 years of B.E. before the second world war saw him posted to Bougainville as a Aircraft Electrical Technician. After the war he was self employed as an electrician for some years before joining Mc Master's Electrical Contractors and finally the Tauranga Electric Power Board retiring from their as Area Manager, in 1981 to live in Mt Maunganui. Barry was also a keen photographer.
