Kaplan, a retired meat inspector and compliance officer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, died Tuesday at a North Richland Hills hospital. Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Greenwood Mausoleum. Mr. Kaplan was born in Valentine, Neb., and moved to Fort Worth in 1946. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. From 1950 to 1960, Mr. Kaplan served as national vice president of District 9 for the American Federation of Government Employees. Survivors: Wife, Evelyn Kaplan of Hurst; and four sisters, Clara Swanson, Evelyn Dunn, Agnes Leonard and Mildred Sloan, all of Valentine. N.B. Kirkland, Weighmaster
