a. Note:   North Dakota Buried at New England, Hettinger Co., North Dakota Obituary(Newspaper unknown) "MOORD FARMER PASSES AWAY" Chas. Hasel, well-known Moord farmer passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital at Dickerson, February 17, after having been ill but a few days. He was taken to the hospital Tuesday, suffering from stomach trouble. He was beyond medical aid. Deceased was born in Iowa(unclear on this fact) on December 14, 1871, being at the time of his death a little past61 years of age. He was married to Miss Hilda Amalia Lindberg at Castlewood, South Dakota in 1908. They moved to New England in the fall of 1916, and located in the Iowa settlement north of New England. Later they moved to the farm in Moord Township, ten miles west of New England. Surviving are his widow, and twelve children, eight of whom resided at home, Edwin, Elvin, Allen, Harold, Virgil, Mildred, Irene, and Viola. One son, Alfred, is married and lliving in the same community. William is married and lliving at Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Mrs. L.N. Schmit (Gladys) and Mercedes also live in Portland. Wm. Hasel is enroute home from Portland, expecting to arrive in time for the funeral but his message was not received here in time. Funeral Services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church in New England, Monday, and burial was made in the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetary at New Englan, Rev. Hoyer officiating.
