Note: !ALFRED made a trip to Washington state & worked on a farm for 3 years. Then he moved to Ellensburg, WA, & was working on a farm there when he met & marr- ied LEONA EVANS. After their marriage, they moved to Portland, Oregon, where he worked at a saw mill for some time. Later he got a job at a shipyard & stayed until the Union went on strike. He then went to work for the "Well- mett Ironworks" (Willamette), as a boilermaker. He stayed there until the plant closed, then moved to Sunnyside, Washington, in 1919. He raised sugar beets & farmed, milked cows & raised asparagus. He retired in Sunnyside, WA.
