a. Note:   After they married they had four children, three of whom lived. She had two more by her second husband. Matt and Esther lived on 70th St. and then in Brookfield. Later in life she worked for the telephone company, standing to count calls. She made great German potato salad, was sociable. She loved accordion music and three of her children were accomplished players. She liked family gatherings and playing canasta with friends. She took care of her parents in their old age.
Note:   As a young woman Esther would ride the streetcar to see Matt's orchestra play.
