  Will of A. D. Meyer -- This writing executed by me for the purpose herein & here after set forth, is to be regarded my last Will hereby revoking all others --- made. In the first place I recognize with profound gratitude that a kind and good God, has from day to day in all the many years of my life supplied my ever returning wants but more especially do I praise & Adore His matchless love exhibited to our fallen race, In the gift of his own son to redeem us from sin & death and now trusting to his merits we have a good hope, both sure and & steadfast, in the precious promises of our assended Savior, that we shall live & enjoy a better life after we leave this rule of tears. Age and infirmity --- use that this earth is not destined long to be my dwelling place. I hereby testify my love for my Wife Mary A. Meyer by willing & ordaining that in the event my said Wife shall survive me she is to have hold & enjoy all the personal or real property or whatever kind it may be that I may leave at my death, not otherwise heretofore disposed of during her natural life, after which time the estate is so much of it as may remain shall be devided equally between all my children or there representatives. I further Will that my said Wife shall not be required to give bond to an court or party for the discharge of the duties imposed on her in the trust hereinnamed believing she will honestly & faithfully cary out all its provisions.   "Partial History of the Irvine Family, of Kentucky", By Cousin Sarah McKee
  "My grand father, Abram Irvine, son of Abram and Mary Dean Irvine, was born in Rockbridge County Virginia, April 8th. 1766. He came with his father's family to Kentucky in 1786 or 87. He was married to Sarah Henry from Charlottesville Virginia, at the residence of her brother, General William Henry, near Georgetown Kentucky, on the 23rd. day of January 1796. She went with him to a place near Lebanon Kentucky, where their only child, (my mother) was born May 28th. 1798. She contracted a severe cold at the burial of the mother of old Dr. Thomas Clelland. She was never well afterward. She was taken in a carriage on a bed to her brother William's home, in order to be near her old Doctor. She died there of consumption April 15th. 1801 and was buried near Gerogetown, Kentucky. Jane Henry Irvine (my mother) was born near Lebanon Kentucky May 28th. 1798. She was married to Lee M. Speake of Maryland, August 14th. 1823. Their children were: Francis Alexander, married Mary A. Hunter of Kentucky. Margaret Ann, married James F. McKee. Sarah Henry, married John L. McKee, of Kentucky. Mary Jane, married Dr. William B. Morning of Kentucky. Elizabeth Julia, married Castillo Barfield, of Tennessee Louis Ermine, married J. W. Mitchell of Missouri.
  Grand father married again on --- day of April 1804 Peggy McAfee, of Mercer county Kentucky. Grand ma Peggy was a tall and large frame woman, as neat as a new pin and looked well to the ways of her household, and meeted out strict justice to all. (From here on Anna is doing the talking)
  Abram Irvine and Margaret McAfee were the parents of our grand mother, Elizabeth C. Irvine. Born October 1st. 1815. She was married to Ansel D. Meyer of South Carolina, September 26th. 1833. This union was blessed with the following named children: Rebecca Ardis, born July 3rd. 1837, married Thomas R. Browne of Washington County Kentucky April 25th. 1860. Margaret Crawford, born April 25th. 1841, married Stephen E. Browne of Washington County Kentucky, April 25th. 1860 (Double Wedding) James M. died in infancy. John Miller, born March 1st. 1847, married Fannie English, October 23rd. 1866. Edward Hopkin, born December 16th. 1849, married Alice Mann, November 10th. 1879. Mary Irvine, born June 1st. 1857, married Hinton Smith of Texas, May 25th. 1880."
