Note: N14 Oblong, Crawford IL US Census 1910 Thrall, Williamson TX US Census 1920 Vinita OK - A man and his wife were killed Saturday [April 5, 1941], but their two children escaped injury in a truck-car crash six miles east of here. The dead were Henry John Meyer, 39, and his wife, Nondus Meyer, 32, of Manchester MI. Uninjured were their children, H. J. Meyer, Jr., 12, and Rosemary Meyers, 14, who were in the rear seat of the Meyer car. The Meyer family was en route to visit Mrs. Meyer’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. T. England, Burkburnett TX. Their car cllided with a truck. A car behind the Meyer machine and another behind the truck telescoped into the wrecked cars, but no other person was injured. The Monitor (McAllen TX) Sunday, April 6, 1941. Montpelier IN, April 7 [1941] - Mrs. Nondus (England) Meyer, 31, formerly of Keystone, and her husband, Henry J. Meyer, 37, were killed in an accident in Oklahoma, according to a message recieved by the former’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George England, of Keystone. A son and a daughter of the couple escaped unharmed, the telegram stated. Their home is in Manchester MI, but it is believed they were enroute to Burkburnett TX, to the home of Guy and Rose (Speece) England, parents of the dead woman. No funeral plans had been learned today. The Star Press (Muncie IN), Tuesday, April 8, 1941. Funeral services will be held Saturday mourning at Manchester MI for Henry J. Meyer, 39, and his wife, Nondus (England) Meyer, 32, who were killed in an auto accident last Saturday [April 5, 1941] at Vinita OK.
