  Wichita Falls TX - Delmar Speece England, 91, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and World War II veteran, entered The Kingdom of Heaven on January 20, 2015. Born February 11, 1923 in Thrall TX to Guy Truman and Rosa Mae Speece England, Delmar moved with his family to Burkburnett later that year. He graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1941. Delmar was preceded in death by his soul mate and wife of 71 years, Mary Frances Pearson England; his parents; sisters, Nondus Meyer (Henry), Mildred Ouzts (Johnny), Elva Jane Stevens (Virgil), Marie Gilbert (Harley), Bobbie Kemp (Durward), and Naomi Johnson (Morris); and brothers, Ralph (Jean), Kenneth (Geneva), Bill (Lois) and G. T. (Joanne). Survivors include his son, Jim England and wife Gayle of Denton; daughter, Jan Lamoreaux and husband Bill of Addison; grandson, Stephen England of Plano; grandson, Lt. Col. (Ret) John Dea and wife Christi and children Charlie, Grace and Rebecca of Highland IL; granddaughter, Susan Dea of Bedford; sister, Beatrice Gragg and husband Ellis of Edmond OK; and many other relatives and friends. Delmar served in the US Army in New Guinea, the Philippines, Okinawa, and Korea, assigned to Company C, 184th Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, and many other metals and citations. After his military service, Delmar was employed as body shop manager at Morgan Dodge in Wichita Falls for 21 years. He retired from Allstate Insurance Company in 1987 after 28 years as a Senior Claims Representative. After his retirement, Delmar attended several annual Army reunions of the 7th Infantry Division and stayed in close contact with fellow members. One of his favorite memories was participating with his son Jim in the Honor Flight for WW II veterans to Washington DC in April 2013. Delmar was a member of the VFW, DAV, American Legion, Purple Heart Club, Masonic Lodge #1027 (for more than 50 years), the Lions Club, the Red River Golf Association where he was an avid golfer, and the Ten Gallon Blood Donor Club. One of his fondest memories was shooting a Double Eagle while playing golf at the Wichita Falls Country Club. He was a charter member of the Texas Men’s Claims Association. Delmar was an active life-long member of the First Baptist Church in Burkburnett, serving as the secretary of the Sunday school for 50 years. In June of 2004, the church presented him with a special award for his many years of service and dedication. Burial will be in the Burkburnett Cemetery.    FAG 141583863
