Carl Otto Buss, age 74, died suddenly on May 29, 2013. Carl was born September 17, 1938 in Bridgewater Township to Erwin and Edna (Weidmayer) Buss. Carl was a life long resident of the Manchester area. On July 5, 1958 he married his high school sweet heart, Nondus Gilbert. He has been her loving, dedicated caregiver for the past several years. Carl loved to work. He had farming in his blood and his days working the land were perhaps some of his best. Carl was dedicated to his family. He loved hearing about the activities of his grandchildren. As a father he taught the value of hard work and believed in a giving his daughters the benefit of a solid education. Over the years Carl quietly helped many people. He was a man high in mercy. Along with his wife of 54 years, he is survived by daughters, Elaine (Bill) Wilmarth of Maryville MO, Carol (Dennis) Durnwald of Maumee OH. Grandchildren, Eric and Holly Wilmarth, Libby and Lauren Durnwald. Brothers Stanley (Bobbie) Buss of Montrose MI, Russel (Carol) Buss of Port Arthur TX, Glenn (Kathy) Buss of Chelsea MI. Memorial donations can be made to Service First Home Care, Chelsea, MI; Emaunel United Church of Christ; or the Manchester Alumni Scholarship Fund. A Celebration of Life will be held at Emanuel United Church of Christ on Monday, June 3, 2013 starting with a 10 A.M. gathering, services will follow at 11:00. A natural farewell has taken place.
