Note: [Piech~52.ftw] Oral History Jim Piechorowski Before Sophie married Uncle Al in 1929 she had spent four years studying to become a Holy Cross Nun. She did not take her final vows. Sophie was an expert seamstress at Notre Dame sewing the vestments for the preist's. Sophie was also an expert baker and as a child she would babysit for me when my father Frank A., had meetings to attend in the evenings. She also had a habit of using large quantiteis of "Moth Balls" to sanitise her house. The sent of these Moth Balls impregnated the flour she baked with and we all remember joking about " Aunt Sophies's Moth Ball Cookies"
